Language and Superdiversity

During the past few decades, the face of social, cultural and linguistic diversity in societies all over the world has changed radically, producing complexity of a different kind than what has traditionally been captured in the notion of multiculturalism. This ‘new’ diversity, or super-diversity (Vertovec 2007), encompasses a wide range of societal and cultural transformations that stem mainly from accelerated processes of geocultural and mediated globalization of the last two decades.

Translating Asia: Now and Then. First International Conference on Translation Studies

We welcome submissions to the First International Conference on Translation Studies which will be held on 8-9 May 2014 in Bangkok, Thailand. ICTS2014 aims to be a supportive space for those who wish to present their latest studies and research projects related to Asian languages and cultures. It further seeks to create a dynamic network of researchers working in Translation Studies. This interdisciplinary conference further welcomes researchers of related disciplines who focus their studies on Asian languages and cultures.

CfP: Doing Policy Analysis with SKAD (IPA 2015)

We would like to invite paper submissions for our Panel "Doing Policy Analysis with SKAD" (p22) at 10th Interpretive Policy Conference in Lille, 8-10 July. Please find the CfP below and attached to this message.

Europe in Discourse: Identity, Diversity, Borders

The Conference seeks to examine issues in the ongoing construction of European identity, including notions of diversity and (physical and symbolic) borders. It will focus on critical investigations that draw on discourse theory or bottom-up textual analysis to investigate these topics from the following perspectives:

CADAAD 2018: 7th International Conference on Critical Approaches to Discourse Analysis Across Disciplines

Update: We are glad to announce that the 7th Critical Approaches to Discourse Analysis across Disciplines Conference (CADAAD) will take place 4-6 July 2018 and will be hosted by Aalborg University, Denmark.

CADAAD conferences are intended to promote current directions and new developments in cross-disciplinary critical discourse research. We welcome papers which, from a critical-analytical perspective, deal with contemporary social, scientific, political, economic, or professional discourses and genres. Possible topics include but are by no means limited to the following:

16th International Pragmatics Conference

The 16th International Pragmatics Conference, organized by the International Pragmatics Association (IPrA – http://pragmatics.international), will be held in Hong Kong from 9 to 14 June 2019, at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. See http://pragmatics.international/page/HongKong As on earlier occasions, the conference is open to all topics relevant to the field of linguistic pragmatics, broadly conceived as the interdisciplinary (cognitive, social, cultural) science of language use.
